Education
I am a sophomore majoring in Secondary English Education at ULL with a 3.7 GPA.
Experience
ACT Score: 29 English: 34 Reading: 34 I was the President of my high school National Honors Society and graduated as Valedictorian of my class with a 4.6 weighted GPA. I have tutored in high school and enjoy helping others further their education. As an aspiring English teacher, I want to try and help as many people as I can with any subject that might be difficult for them. I have a general grasp of most high school subjects like Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, French (3 years), and History, but I am most helpful in English (writing and reading comprehension). I have taken multiple English classes at UL including: English 115 - Honors Academic Writing. Students focus on how to write a proper thesis and evaluate plays, novels, and short stories. It also covers basic MLA format. English 210 - Literary Genres with a focus in Poetry. I can help you better your understanding and appreciation of poems. English 211 - War in Literature. This class was designed around Wilfred Owen's "the pity of war." It included daily analyses of war novels, poems, and short stories. English 215 - Honors British Literature focuses on early British and religious British texts, such as "The Canterbury Tales" and "Doctor Faustus." English 290 - Literary Studies teaches students how to write detailed, coherent papers with/without research. English 351 - Intro to Linguistics teaches students how to decipher languages, and how to transcribe them phonetically. English 352 - English Grammar and Usage class with a focus in the parts of speech, such as determining nouns, verbs, prepositions, etc. I prefer to be personally contacted for any tutoring session, so please text me at (337)579-1526. I have a very flexible schedule and will try to find a time that is best for you. I would like to conduct all tutoring sessions at the Edith Garland Dupre Library on UL's campus, if possible (negotiable).
